This colorway specifically was at the height of popularity about 4 years ago, or so. For some reason, they became must-have fashion and were actually hard to get at one point. The hype has since died down a bit and they aren't hard to obtain. They aren't as "cool" as the were a few years ago, but they will always be a classic. Like Chuck Taylors
