These things break incredibly easily. Was washing mine (brand new) the other day, lightly tapped the side of the sink by accident and it immediately shattered completely, sending shards of glass flying everywhere. Would not recommend these at any price.

I've yet to find a durable double glass cup. A light tap will shatter it.

wow and they say it's borosilicate glass too. it's not supposed to break like that.

The worst part about these types of glasses is that when they do eventually break, they tend to explode into not only only the normal large pieces like any other glass, but also many very tiny needlelike shards that are difficult to clean up and tend to be dispersed over a much wider area than you expect.

My family has been using the bodum pavinas for over a decade. We've broken several of the original generation (without silicone flaps) in circumstances that a regular glass would survive. The newer versions don't seem to break easily, though they don't survive being dropped onto a tile floor from counter height.
