While there is no direct, single successor to the Casio Privia Pro PX-5S, the closest, most modern alternatives are the Casio Privia PX-560 for similar synthesis features or the Casio Privia PX-S5000/S6000/S7000 series for updated action and sounds. The PX-560 inherits the Hex Layer technology and 4-zone controller capabilities of the PX-5S.
If you want to pay a little more, you could look at the Donner models. My friend has one and likes it. I bought a new Korg a few years ago and didn't use it much. When I finally got around to wanting to play it, it no longer worked. Decided at that point not to spend much on these.
