I got this as my first weight vest and quickly abandoned it . There Velcro all over so it shreds your clothes . I had to cut up old socks to cover the Velcro. It's bulky and made of cheap material. The sandbags are cheap and leak. This should be your last option

I have one of these that I store snacks in. It gets lighter throughout the day, so I can tell I'm getting stronger.

This might get too light real quick. I have a 40 lbs one but only use 24 lbs and definitely wears on your shoulders and neck.

Thank you for the insight, I'll avoid this one. Any recommendations then for which ones to get?

Have had one for a couple years and wear it on walks. No issues with the Velcro at all like the other poster. Haven't had any issues with the sandbags leaking either. The shoulders aren't well padded like another poster said, but I've never noticed it being uncomfortable, other than feeling like I've gained an extra 20 pounds.

Are the better options? Of course. But for low impact use like for walking, it's not a bad option for the price.

We just started using this. We will be weary of the velcro cutting things up thing.
Last time I saw this people kept taking about it wrecking your joints which isn't true. You just need to be gradual with the weights or intensity.

At this price point I would fill sandbags to the desired weight and use an existing framed backpack with hip support. I went with a plate carrier which is more expensive, but better form and utility. None of the Amazon weight vests under $40 are worth buying because they are cheaply made

This is an insane take. I have the 40 pound version of this. The only velcro is a band on the front that the straps cover, so there is no place for it to shred your clothes. Also, the sandbags are fine but I guess if you take them out everyday they might cause you trouble. I wouldn't know, I just leave them alone because there is no reason to mess with them. I don't even know what the sandbags look like.

I have the CAP 20. A long Velcro strap doubles around the waste and fastens in front. The hook side is exposed at the sides and at the front of the vest. When you run, those hooks rub on clothing and tear it up. You can see this in the pictures as well. Beyond that it's a huge box of sand that bounces on your chest and back.
