The "C" in the model number is for connected, the ability to connect via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to various programs for quickly recording measurements without typing. I was using ArcSite where you just tap the wall you're measuring, hit a button on the laser, and the measurement appears in the app immediately. It seemed very accurate vs a tape measure, within the tolerances I needed.
Way easier than using a tape measure because most rooms were 10-15', which is a bear to do alone with a tape measure (standout, etc). Also, turns out you need like 30 measurements per room (not just X, Y, Z, but offsets of windows, doors, etc.), so the time savings was worth it. I was also able to measure the crawlspace, >30 feet in each direction, without having to actually enter the crawlspace.
I'm sure it's great for other things, and not everyone has a need, but I really wish this deal were available when I needed it!
