IMHO, this is like giving our cats a candy bar. They are not nutritious food. And, by purchasing them, I believe we're allowing companies to take advantage of our love for our furbies by charging outrageous prices for about ONE OUNCE of cat-candy. Dispicable, I say. One of these 'cups' equals 1/5th of a can of real food for much more money. Don't agree? Fine. Throw your money away. If they were priced at .10-.20 apiece I'd say, great, have a treat. But not when they cost more than their actual food. I don't sub to SD for nothing! ;-)
Over the years, we've had 4 cats. Three lived for over 20 years. Our remaining baby is 24 and happy/healthy. We got them all as baby strays.

I like candy bars.
I bet my cats would love a kitty candy bar.
See, we've agreed that we don't want to live for ever.
If you've ever taken 24/7 care of elderly family member, you'll know why sometimes it's best to not live a very long life. Or better yet, visit a nursing home and see what a hoot it is..

As someone's who's both worked in a nursing home and an elderly daycare, there are older people who have high quality of life all the way until they pass away quite peacefully. If you don't take good care of your cats or your elderly, they have a higher chance of becoming unhealthy, unable to care for themselves, in chronic pain as they age.

It's ok to give your cats or yourself an occasional treat of course.
