Ask yourself: Do I want a product that might be banned? Will I really use it more than a handful of times?

My suggestion is: If you don't care about the risk of a ban, get the pro controller and play some FPV sims first. The motion controller is fun but you quickly find limits, you will want to use a pro controller sooner than later. These are not for everyone.
well said. I doubt even with the BAN dji will make these avata2 unusable.
the ban only referrs to new products.

I have my avata2 and mini 5 pro from amazon and they work fine.

OLED instead of LCD, 100HZ instead of 60HZ, more compact, one screen for each eye instead of one screen that is reflected with a mirror, the ability to adjust for your desired IPD. That being said, people don't really complain about the N3 at its price point, and some people like the how the weight is distributed on the N3

It doesn't look like this has obstacle avoidance. Is that a big deal? I'm a drone newbie.

if you are a newbie, get the Neo 1 or Neo2. Neo2 has obstacle avoidance. both are cheap enough that you wont cry if you crash accidentally. i know i would cray if i crash my Avata 2 which is why i have personal article insurance from State Farm for $50 annually. gravity always win no matter how good a drone pilot is.

Wow, what an amazing deal. I paid more for this combo used. If I didn't already have 2, I would 100% buy this.

New drone pilot here, had my neo 2 from ebay for about a week. Amazing drone and easy to figure out. Software is really good, I got it with the controller for about $410

shorten version

What the Covered List Ban Does to DJI, Autel, and Others:
Bans the sale of all future foreign drones and components.

What the Ban Does Not Do:
It does not ban existing drones, which will continue to be for sale.
It does not ground your current drone, fly away.
It does not make it illegal to own a drone. You can take off the tinfoil hat.
It does not affect FAA regulations. There are no new rules in effect and you still have to obey existing regulations.
