Running the main PC on this unit, and it makes for an extra clean setup running 5521 (DC outputs on the OUPES) to 5525 cables to directly power my modem and router, saving wall warts and another DC > AC > DC step. PC, monitor, and speaker amp can happily run with another AC outlet free as needed, plus plenty of USB.
These deals are just getting cheaper. EXODUS for $250. This one is $50 more for faster AC charging, higher solar charging, expandable, and higher watt output.
Curious why this deal isn't getting any love but the Exodus 1200 is? Isn't the Mega 1 better in every way for only $50 more? Am I missing something.
Unless you literally cannot spend the extra $50, this is absolutely worth it over the Exodus.
Brand notwithstanding - because only time will tell if they stick around and their warranty is worth anything - the Mega 1 at $300 is the best value available right now if for no other reason than it's easily hacked to use non-OUPES expansion batteries. I would double my budget if the Mega 2 dropped to $600 (it was $619 last month), but I don't think that'll happen any time soon, so I bit on this.
There are cheaper units out there if you don't want or need this capacity, of course.

Lots of us out here are less informed but depend on these types of comments. I have been trying to decipher all the deals lately but just bought the Mega 1 for $314 after tax based on this thread and your comments from you and EfYouToo. Thanks!

Silly request but mind posting a Picture. I'm curious...
The deal breaker for me on this is the high idle usage. You'll lose half the capacity in a day just on idle without usage.
I've been holding out for a 240v output unit with simultaneous charging for under $1k so I can power both sides of the panel during an outage for the entire house. I'm hoping maybe in the next two years or so we get to that price point.

you are so right, I noticed today that the power % keep decreasing while having 55ish watt input and with AC on 0w output, and I could only get 550ish usable AC watt hour out of this from 100 to 0 without charging in between. I wonder where you got that info.

From Project Farm. He did a review just a few weeks ago, and the Oupes had by far the worst idle usage of all brands.
I'm sorry you're dealing with the issue. Maybe their customer service can assist (I think I read a brand that had a firmware update that improved idle usage, but don't recall what brand that was)
