I've bought 4 'refurbished' Dyson vacuums over the last 6-7 years (directly from Dyson's website or ebay page), and they have all come looking brand new, with zero evidence of prior use. I'm pretty sure this is Dyson's way of selling new units at a discounted price to move inventory, without impacting consumer mindset of what a new Dyson vacuum costs.
I will say, however, that Dyson's warranty process was the most frustrating experience I've ever had getting help on a unit that wasn't working as expected. Never got them to do anything for me; agents clearly didn't speak English at a high enough level to understand what I was explaining and they just kept giving me the same clearly canned response on how to get it working. Just had to fix it myself. Disappointing. It was worse than Samsung's appliance warranty process, which is saying A LOT. I would never buy a full price Dyson, just for the warranty concern alone.

Agreed. Their product is good but I would not pay full price, as their customer service stinks. It's a gamble if nothing ever breaks, especially the battery.

4 Dyson vacuums in 6-7 years isn't encouraging... my Bissell is 5yrs old and just now starting to need to be replaced
