Listing title says 3600mWh High Capacity but also "2400 Milliamp Hours" in description. I'm confused.
Edit: 2400mAh x 1.5V = 3600mWh.

FWIW I've been testing them discharging at 1A and getting 1600mAh average, so about 2400mWh.

Re: Costco deal - the AAs are fine but lithium AAAs usually have less capacity than NiMH, the circuitry to get them to work at 1.5V takes up too much room in the AAA form factor.

The Costco batteries are lithium ions marketed by Coast. They are very similar with usb-C charging cables. Please try to not be so condescending.

Question: My Blink cameras require two non-rechargeable 1.5V AA Lithium batteries. I understand these are rechargeable but how can the camera know the difference? Would these possibly work? I'd love to switch to a rechargeable battery in them as they crush the normal non-rechargeable ones and getting them swapped is kind of a pain.

I think the initial problems with rechargeable batteries and Blink is that the old school rechargeables didn't put out a full 1.5v.

I had Blink for years, and in truth the Lithium Ion batteries did last 2 years as stated so I never felt the need for rechargeables.

Blink also has cheap solar panels so no need to swap out batteries.

How would these compare to this? $20 for 8 Lithium 1.5v batteries and includes usb c charger

Same concept except you gotta lug around the charger versus using any USB-C cable to charge.

does anyone know if the usb-c port can output power too? For instance to charge a phone? Im assuming no
No voltage coming out of the USB-C port. Appears to be input only.

Your phone maybe able to charge the AA, but I wouldn't muck around with that port. The step-down/charging circuits on these are delicate and a point of failure.

I'm highly skeptical on their capacity rating as there are many options that don't take up space within the battery itself to have charging circuits and connections that cap out around 3600 mWh. I'd personally steer clear of these and go with batteries that don't become waste if the USB connection breaks.
It's not just the charging circuitry, it's also the step-down converter that brings it from 3.7-4.2V lithium to 1.5V. There are no alternatives if you can't use 1.2V NiMHs.

*any USB-A to USB-C cable.

PD chargers/cables (like the ones that come with modern phones/electronics) likely won't work from my past experience with similar batteries as they're missing the necessary components to negotiate 5V power delivery.

Huh? If a device can't negotiate it should fall back to 5V.

They are missing the required CC1, CC2 Resistors (5.1k Ohm) on the input that would make the PD charger default to 5V.

USB-C to USB-C chargers (PD) stay at 0V until the device tells them to turn on. Devices without 5.1k Ohm resistors on their Configuration Channel (CC) pins cannot initiate this, causing the charger to remain off as the charger doesn't even "know" that's its plugged into anything.

This is the case on many cheaper devices with usb c, for example the R36s and many other Retro handhelds that were posted here on SD only charge with USB-A to USB-C cables.

Anybody try these out in Blink cameras?
I did with a different brand. Unfortunately they did not last 3 months before I got a low battery warning.

My Blinks with the lithium batteries have all gone at least 2 years. Even the front door where Amazon and solicitors trigger them every other day lasted 2 years.

My 2 cents is to stick with lithium non rechargeable.

I've invested in the "standard" battery chargers over the years, and they seem easier than trying to fit this cable into the slot everytime, and remembering to bring it wherever. However, as I type this, I do see the utility of USB-C charging, because they are standard and almost everywhere. I won't get it because you can't use the standard battery chargers to charge them, which they should resolve in the future, knowing people would see a battery and try to charge it the conventional way.

With that said, you gotta live YOUR life, and ask yourself if these are worth it FOR YOU. See the comments here, and try to make that determination.

Anybody know if these would be ideal for a kwikset smart deadbolt lock? Mine takes 4 AA and it would be great if these would work well.
