If I wanted to run a Ethernet line to my office, could I cut one of the ends of this cable off and use the cable in a punch down terminal?

Can do free in-store returns. Most likely it's just a bunch of cable in a soft ship bag or a small box that someone found too long and returned to store.

Looks to be bare copper. Anyone know if it's CMR and what the gauge is? I know I know, 100ft for 9 bucks is a heck of a deal. Just wondering the specs since I might use PoE with these cables in mind.

Just don't run it in-walls. It's not rated for that.

I see cat6 cables go for $12 for lowest price. so at $9, its not a must buy (could use one but not urgent). I saw the $2-$3 open box options too late. definitely would buy at that price.

Don't cut a 100 ft cable. Get and coupler and cut a short cable.
