I read some of those negative reviews and looked at the pictures, the issue is not the rack.

Reviews with pictures showed rack overloaded with items & heavier items at top of rack instead of bottom so yes, this could lead to collapse or tipping over especially on something that is not anchored to a wall. As far as your comment about people saying "it's cheap", well it is cheap, what do people expect for $20 or $30 these days? Solid wood or solid heavy metal? It just seems the people leaving negative reviews had unreasonable expectations.
