I have one of these. It was very helpful in identifying why a series of outlets failed. The 12 gauge neutral fell off it's post.

some false readings, but if you use it a bit, it gets easier to tell when the sound is weaker

From Keepa, this is the lowest price ever in 409 days on Amazon with the coupon, absolutely a SD for this.

Also, once you use this, whats the point keeping it?
Isn't it better to rent a much better one if they make strong ones? Or just get a friend start flipping breakers?

I plug in my boom box and crank it up, and then head to the breaker panel and listen for the music to cut out as I trip breakers.

I think it helps. As others say, it is doesn't always signal strongly on just one circuit but usually allows me to narrow it to two options.

Deal is dead. This wasn't cheap enough to warrant an impulse purchse for me - I can already forsee seeing this disused in my electrical tote a year from now and thinking "Yeah, that wasn't a good idea". Invite a buddy over and iD your circuits in an hour.

No coupon here either. At least this Klein Kit included the adapters that would let it be used in multiple situations.

YMMV, but it was for me. I couldn't get a solid reading from the Klein despite testing repeatedly on several different circuits. Even when I thought I got a solid reading, it was off by one about half the time. I ordered the Fluke and it gave a solid (and correct) reading on the first attempt. Also it feels more solid than the Klein which feels like very cheap plastic, and it doesn't beep constantly while in use like the Klein does.
