Gen 2 newest version is much better in every aspect. Twice battery life, usb c, latest Bluetooth, etc.

My dad gave this to my son when he upgraded to a bigger speaker. It sounds great and gets surprisingly loud. Bose makes really good speakers. Micro USB is a bummer, but this is 1/3 the price of the soundlink flex, which I also own. It sounds better than a much larger and similarly priced Anker Soundcore speaker we have, so I think it's a pretty good option for a budget but very rich sounding speaker.

Needed something to use as a shower speaker. This might speaker is probably a bit overkill for that. Decided to go with the Soundcore Select Go speaker which is on sale @ Amazon for $25 right now. IP67, 20H runtime and it has a seal over the USB-C port (unlike these Bose speakers which to me is a bit suspect).
