I have zero experience with this tablet but this appears to be better with regard to performance than the Fire HD10 refurbs that go on sale for 30-ish a couple times a year. An extra GB of RAM, faster processor, bigger screen, and best of all none of the stupid Fire OS nonsense.

It has 4.6 stars on Walmart's site at the $130 price point it retails at. The only complaint I found was that the screen is usually sharp but sometimes grainy in certain conditions. At this price point I think that's fine but if you are picky about screens you might want to pass on this one. Personally I'm using a $30 refurb Fire HD10 as a streaming media BT interface for a party speaker, and I have a Fire 11 Max that I would probably love if not for the Fire OS nonsense (I do like it).

Half tempted to pick one of these up for work, look at schematics on it.

For $30 it's cheaper than a touchscreen+pi zero+enclosure. Worth grabbing for random projects. Thanks OP

Was able to buy 2 with coupon. As long as theres nothing super janky with the Android rom they are using, these should make quite good Home Assistant dashboards. I currently have some Fire tablets around the house (2017-2018 models with custom roms) and while kinda laggy on intensive dashboards, they do work sufficiently well. These should be much snappier.

Anyone remotely concerned about privacy be aware that any OS loaded on these types of devices are strictly as secure as the mfg is.

If the mfg is not trusted, then this is best used as a throw away burner that won't have any of your logins or data

Bought one for my mom. The usb c port broke on her galaxy tab a 2019. Will be a good upgrade for youtube and media. I was considering for myself but probably too slow for a phone enthusiast with galaxy s25 ultra ?
A bit slow but you won't get something at this price for the next 6 years

I gave one of these to a family member about a year ago and they've used it every day since. Youtube and TikTok run fine on it. $30 is a steal.

Use other ebay accounts
Isn't that illegal since they track the billing address of whichever card you use?

Absolutely would not enter my Google credentials in this tablet. These are store returns and nobody has checked the device for malware. Bootloader could've been unlocked. It does not have the latest security update. Y'all crazy paying for this.

To be fair, almost anything is cheaper than those Raspberry Pis. They've just did another price increase.

Yeah, you're right.
I went ahead and bought another one. woot
Seems there's some xda action for it, so there's hope for LineageOS to help clean up the device.

Placed order, coupon was already applied at checkout, hopefully not google locked device... "damaged box".. can be return with left unregistered google account.. making it basically a brick, not worth $5

What? Google locked device? I'm really confused if that's a thing and how factory reset wouldn't fix it?

I understand smartphones and blacklist for stolen devices but that only applies for cellular connectivity. You absolutely can still use Wi-Fi on a blacklisted smartphone.

Why would Google be bricking Walmart tablets?
