No, it just doesn't work all that great sometimes.

Harmony is no longer supported, and my Harmony hubs have finally stopped working. I have switched to Sofa Baton which is a limited substitute.
You making me nervous. What do you mean? Your hubs are broken or are you implying logitech is doing something to make them stop working?
Our family will probably stop watching TV if harmony stopped working.

Thanks. I just checked it out and it appears to be similar to my hub. Seems a little pricey, but if it works it works. As long as my hub functions, I'm sticking with it. I wish Logitech hadn't orphaned all th Harmony line.

Why would this be needed? Just turn on HDMI-CEC and get the same benefit for free!
I hate the lag. Sure, my TV remote can do everything but it is slower than using the fire remote. And that drives me nuts. And the fire remote can't change settings on the tv which I do daily.

Side note: If you are going on a cruise, a universal remote can be very handy. The cruise ship remote typically doesn't have an input button. If you want to connect your computer to the TV via HDMI, you can't change the input without a universal remote.

Hospital TVs as well. Fire Sticks easily allows you past the challenge screen when joining guest wifi.

I can't get to the TV settings without a dedicated remote for the TV. My dog chewed up the remote that came with the TV so i have one of these for that reason. I also like it's a larger size than just the small firestick remote that gets easily lost in the blankets.

Or a dog that finds the orginal remote to be a chewable toy that needs to be dismantled beyond recognition.

They didn't break physically. Mine just stopped complying with commands. The software is no longer available to reprogram, so I am out of luck.

Do you know what HDMI-CEC is?
I do know that it lets your firetv remote control your TV and your TV remote control your firetv, but the fire TV remote cannot do everything your TV remote does for example change your inputs. Does that satisfy your curiosity?

Did you check behind the universal remote?
I found it! But I had already wasted money buying a universal remote! 😢

I keep a fire stick in my travel bag, and this would be great for hotel TVs.
Fire stick is a good idea, but I would just use the phone app to control it instead of bringing a remote too.

But hotel TVs are very locked down without a remote. Switching inputs alone is a pain. Hotels typically provide you a Cable Box remote that doesn't have basic functions.
