For someone who is clearly naive, can someone enlighten me why this is a deal? $50 for a single movie...

1. It's a limited edition. 2. The movie itself is an action masterpiece. 3. It was thought to never be coming to 4k UHD because of who owned the rights. 4. The transfer looks amazing.

It's not a deal. Just because it's a niche film doesn't make it worth $50.

There is a movie called "Rosemary's Baby", considered a classic horror movie now but far less demand for it than something like the new Dune movies in 4k, and that's $20 on Amazon.
It's a "limited edition" limited to however many people will pay $50 for it.

It's not a deal but it was sold out for months and it will sell out again, so if you want it with a great transfer, this is it.

I have a love/hate with Amazon so I will just point out that you can order directly from Shout at Gruv for $42.50 after signing up for their newsletter and using the 15% off code https://gruv.com/collections/shou...1000857722

I'm not one to crap on physical media, and I can appreciate spending a little more for special editions (i.e. Criterion), but this just seems exorbitant to me. $25 seems like a much more reasonable sale price for a special release like this.

It's a cool movie, BTW, but yeah, likely one that you'd watch once and then stow on your shelf and forget about.
