With the new unlock policy, the phone is mostly useless and can be sold or used as an emulation device or spare extra etc.
YMMV on rebranding it to Tracfone and use with a cheaper plan or park for a year to unlock etc.
The tablet however should come unlocked for use with any other carrier (based on past experience with ST)
This is not even close to the deals prior to Jan 20, but still a decent deal for the tablet alone at this price IMHO. Happy to be corrected.

Any Verizon Value brands (like Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Tracfone) will now require 365 days of PAID and active activation to be able to unlock.
The old policy used to be 60 days.
Thanks to the corrupt US Government for this change.
