I have these clamps in both 6" (GSCC2.506) and 12" (GSCC2.512). They are great. I think they are an honest "medium duty". Way stronger than common quick clamps. They work great for typical glue ups, even if you're trying to squeeze together a tiny hollow/concave bit. I'm not an expert, but I highly recommend these.

If you want a extra pair of hands, quick clamps. If you want to make sure something is held firmly, use these. 2 of them if it's long-ish board and you want to prevent rotation. And if you want to superhuman strength where the wood is going to fail long before the clamps, then you may want something more heavy duty.
