I dunno how Geek Squad refurbs compare but I got one of the Woot deals around xmas time and am really pleased with this watch. Big screen, responsive, etc, granted I came from a Series 3 42mm but it's night and day and then some to that "standard" apple watch at least.

only downside would be heavy on the wrist for some people

I just received my watch yesterday and so far it has been working well on holding up with charge with normal usage. Entire packaging was missing, no scratches or scuff marks on the watch, just signs of band being inserted and ejected routinely, watch band and charger also look like new but came without any box. The battery health is showing 'Maximum Capacity' as 86%.
