Idk, I'm running ios26.3 on mine and not noticing anything bothersome. Granted I only play basic games, hay day, casino, etc. I browse the web, use shopping apps just fine. My experience hasn't changed since moving to ios26, but I'm a basic user so that may account for something.

Running ipadOS/iOS 26 is pretty terrible on this device, don't upgrade if you haven't. So if this iPad comes with OS26, it's a garbage.

Running ipadOS/iOS 26 is pretty terrible on this device, don't upgrade if you haven't. So if this iPad comes with OS26, it's a garbage.

i have this and use it it take notes for engineering so do my siblings. it lags when you open multiple things or havem ultiple notes open or creating a new file sometimes but not always. I restart it and that helps but also it doesnt have much space on it.

If this comes with anything prior to "I"-Pad OS 26, you're golden. Otherwise, #26 will absolutely hobble performance with its Windows Vista-style interface. (hint apple -- it didn't work for Microsoft back then, and it doesn't work for you now.)

(you'd think that after 26 attempts, they'd finally settle on a design and get things right. You know, iron out those plentiful bugs and glitches...but nope! Everything must change once again!)

If all you want to do is hit play and watch a video (e.g., young kids, older parents, treadmill), you'll wait a few more seconds for it to launch, but it'll work just fine, and the 64GB memory is a non-issue.

Major OS updates are done after 2026 (not that you want them), and security patches will go until 2028 or so.

The only real downside is that this uses Lightning, and it's one of the last devices in my household that isn't USB-C.

I second this. It was all well until ipadOS 26 hit. I can still watch YouTube but everything got so laggy and annoying that I find myself avoiding it.
