This Legion Pro 5 pairs a 16 inch 1600p OLED 165Hz display with a Ryzen 7 8745HX, RTX 5060, 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD, making it strongest as a premium screen gaming laptop with generous memory. The 32GB configuration stands out because upgrading laptop RAM is costly right now, and the OLED panel gets praise for brightness and image quality. The main knocks are the $1180 price, the 8GB VRAM limit, and the lack of USB4 on this CPU version. It is a solid fit if display quality and memory matter more than chasing the cheapest 5060.
Buyers who need 32GB of memory now, because upgrading laptop RAM later can cost a lot and this configuration already includes it.
Gamers who want a premium 16-inch panel, because the 1600p 165Hz OLED display is a standout upgrade over cheaper gaming laptops.
Shoppers comparing midrange gaming laptops, because the RTX 5060 performance is close to a 5070 while this model includes 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.
People who want a well-built gaming laptop under a grand, because cheaper XX60 models are described as having worse screens and build quality.
Shoppers focused on pure gaming value, because $1,180 for an RTX 5060 is described as overpriced versus nearby 5070 and refurb alternatives.
Gamers who expect top-tier graphics headroom, because the RTX 5060 has only 8GB of VRAM and can fall behind 12GB cards in demanding games.
Buyers who need USB4 connectivity, because this configuration does not have USB4.
People who want a stable gaming machine out of the box, because one unit hard-crashed under load and needed CPU limits plus full-speed fans to stay usable.

Also: you weren't getting a 165hz 1600p OLED display in an 800 buck laptop.

How does this compare to an old xps 15 9520 laptop that has i7-12700h processor and 32gb ram and Intel xe graphics and Nvidia 3050?
How is the battery on this when not doing any gaming? Say web browse and YouTube? I recall it was said as long as you turn off the rtx 5060, then the battery would be normal? Since it is a Ryzen processor, what is the regular graphics card? For Intel, it's Intel xe graphics. For Ryzen, it's what?
