I just went through the same convo in my head. I now own another impact wrench. I already have the big 1/2 one so I guess this will pair nicely with it. At least thats the excuse I tell myself.

275 ft-lbs of torque and yes it can take off a wheel lug nut. Most passenger cars/trucks are 85+ft lb.

I just bought the 1,170 ft lb of breakaway Torque at my depot for $97. It came with the 4ah HP battery and charger. I couldn't say no.

Me too, and I already had the standard 1/2 inch one. I don't currently have any 3/8 impact sockets, so I don't think I need to buy this one, but it's tempting just to have. The battery is probably worth $40 itself. Decision, decisions.

I was looking at the 1/2in compact and it claims basically the same size as the 3/8in compact with the same 275ft/lbs of breakaway and same weight. Is that actually correct? The 1/2in compact is $40 more with same 2AH HP battery.

If you don't need the battery (2Ah is anemic for an impact) you can use the link below and make this 'hackable' like the Milwaukee deals. Drops the tool down to $52.13 which is a way better deal IMO.
