I waited to long now the coupon is gone. Still $20.99 but that extra discount would have been nice.

Slick!.
Got it for $15.74 after coupon.
Cable is 5' long, these are expensive selling in the $30+ range.
I'd have preferred all black, but for the price/quality ratio I can't complain.

Thanks for sharing!

Good price if you can get the coupon. $20 is closer to typical price for this, though prices are going up. (Ex: Cable Matters sells this length and spec for $20 usually but price has been creeping up https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...CT6HJ&th=1)

Good price. Wish I had a use case for this. Unlike Cable Matters, Kensington does not have a history of lying to consumers and misrepresenting their cables. Benson Leung hates Cable Matters for anything above USB 2.0 and PD 1.0.

I believe this cable doesn't support 120Gbps 1-way, only 80Gbps bi-directional. I think only eGPUs would saturate the 1-way USB4v2 max. I like the length, but it's a little out of my price range for a whim purchase. I just don't transfer that much, nor do I use any high-bandwidth accessories.

You shouldn't buy it either. If you're on the fence, just buy a cheap and slow USB 2.0 cable that supports 3A. Maybe 5A if you need the absolute fastest charging (I don't think you do, but do you). Otherwise this is just going to sit in your drawer. I have several TB3/4 cables that I might use once or twice a year, but want to reduce wear on them and end up using USB 2.0/PD1.0 cables most of the time. And wireless file transfers. Maybe if my dock had a replaceable cable then I would finally get some use from them.

This comment seems to be full of misinformation and projection.

Cable Matters is one of the few brands that sells legitimate USB-IF certified cables (and they also sell legitimate Thunderbolt cables). Their marketing isn't perfect but they will respond to suggestions. Where does Benson Leung "hate" Cable Matters?

This cable does support asymmetric 120Gbps. All passive certified 40Gbps and above cables do.

Maybe you shouldn't buy this cable, but anyone looking to transfer data faster than USB 2.0 speed (5,10,20,40,80,120Gbps) or wants anything a Thunderbolt cable can do - and wants that in 5ft length - definitely should. This is excellent value and is bleeding edge.

Not sure what you're on about "PD1.0" cables either; it's a legacy specification that no cables on the market are made to. Are you talking about 60W cables?

Oh my bad, I meant 2.0. Sry, a bit sick at the moment.

Oh I didn't realize this is passive! Ok that's pretty cool. I've never heard of passive TB cables >1.5m. Very cool.

But I still don't trust Cable Matters because they doubled down with Benson. Def a bad look. I still love their low-spec cables and A2A extenders.

Yes passive cables have come a long way in the last few years. I'm hoping we can get passive certified 3.5-4m long 20Gbps cables and lower cost certified 3m 40Gbps cables one day.

I remember that reddit thread, I was actually a part of that discussion. Benson's issue was that this is a brand with a good reputation in the eyes of specification writers like him because they actually go through the certification process. He doesn't like them selling non-certified cables alongside certified ones. He has no issues with the certified ones. I agree it's not a good look and I'm also disappointed that they do this.

What's an "A2A extender"? A USB extension cable? Those would create exactly the same issue as the long uncertified USB-C cables...

This is like the very first and only passive 1.5m cable. I'm waiting on people to test and benchmark it first.

Maybe a few of these use the same cable stock but they clearly have different back-shells, different connector interface PCBs - different cables. The Silkland cables are braided while the others are not - meaning different cable stock.

The Kensington is manufactured by CE-Link. The Cable Matters originates from GuangDong Quanjie Technology. Not sure about the others.
