I'd say it's not entirely about more leverage, although that would be a nice benefit for stubborn carbon deposits. I have worked with my hands all my life and they're beat up bad; I have to switch hands and pause a couple times cleaning my grill with the regular brush. The double ergonomic handles look pretty dang sweet to me. The bristle-free brush is pretty dope too so ya don't end up accidentally ingesting a bristle and killin' yerself eatin' some bbq.
Edit: looking at it further, looks like it might need that extra leverage because the "brush" kinda just looks like an abrasive sponge. I'm kinda skeptical of this "brush" head. Depends on the abrasive qualities, I guess. An added benefit of an abrasive sponge and the increased leverage, is that it would theoretically allow the "brush" to squish between grate bars and clean further down the sides.

What's the brush head like? Does it seem effective and durable?
