Install syncthing-fork on both of your phones, and leave your pixel plugged in at home. Setup syncthing to sync your camera folder from your real phone. Any time you take a photo or video it'll immediately transfer directly to your pixel and backup to Google photos from there. It's like having the unlimited original quality Google photos storage deal on any phone.

You can even download all the photos and videos you have in your Google photos account currently (Google takeout makes this easy), delete them from Google photos, copy them to your pixel 1 camera folder, and they'll upload back into your Google Photos account, but take up no space.

And if anyone wants in on this, just buy a used pixel 1. All photos and videos that upload to Google Photos from a pixel 1 take up no storage space on your account, regardless of what device you used to capture them. It's free lifetime unlimited original quality photo and video cloud storage.

At some point in the future the OS on the original pixel will become too old to run the latest Google photos app, and this loophole will end, but anything you upload until that time is free to store forever.

Did the costco route:

Max 4 lines allowed
No activation fee, $100 shop card per line
Have credit card ready to pay tax for the full price of the phones
Have your old phone IMEI ready - need to be T-Mobile network compatible. I used the decades old 2G phones
Have computer ready to DocuSign the order email
It took me one hour to complete, no hiccups

Pixel 10 has no sim card slot? That means it cannot be unlocked to use overseas by chance?
looking for the same answer, were you able to get one?

Hate Bill credits
Why? If you're not going to change carriers anyway then who cares.

I've heard and seen reports that your free line will later become a paid line. So I would not risk it.
Even after getting this added successfully, later it converts paid, that's scary...

Hope mine goes well as I hooked for one free phone for free line...didn't know that...

Tmo/Costco fine print says, Qualifying credit and qualifying line ($85+/mo. plan w/AutoPay) required. But I am with Simple choice plan. do they consider as "Qualifying line"?

It's easy to check, just login to your t-mobile account --> shop --> phone --> Pick Line you want to upgrade.

There almost no reason to do these transactions at an T-mobile store now, even when you go in store the first thing they ask you to do is sign into the "T-Life" app.

That being said this applies more than the Pixel 10, I was able to see the $800 discount on the Fold etc. And I have an ancient plan.

In the end I upgrade through Costco. Got a great rep upgraded 3 phones only took ~28minutes. I told him I don't have the IMEI with me and he just entered dummy numbers for me and go everything through.
dummy numbers ?
once, i sent the old phone and for some reason, they were not able to validate the IMEI number i provided during trade-off and they did not give bill credits. I reached out T-Force and they reinstated the offer.

To get 2 Pixel 10s, they allow 4 per account.

Although description says plan change is required, I have one plan and can go through check out without plan change. (It actually didn't ask me to change..) but hesitating to check out because if it triggers to change the plan.. Anyone has one plan successfully checked out without plan change?

I am on a 2-line Simple Choice plan. I went through Costco. I received my 2 Pixel 10's yesterday.

I also got my usual monthly bill yesterday. I'm still on Simple Choice, and the $ credit shows up on the bill as well.

So unless they unexpectedly change my plan a month after the fact... apparently Simple Choice qualifies.

I am a Simple Choice user and just did the Pixel 10 upgrade on one line. Both it and the Pixel 9a had free offers. My offer code was R499 or R498 - I forget but it wasn't R350 as listed earlier in this thread.

I just checked in the T-Life app and the 9a says it's out of stock when I try to upgrade.

Personally, I would prefer to upgrade at Costco as you could get 75 to 100 $ Costco card.
Yes! I ended up calling Costco, $35 activation waived and $100 Costco GC. I ended up just getting the Pixel 10 on us upgrade deal with any phone trade in since my account qualified for it.
