Really liked these for my retail job, but not as good as Topo Aura

Good shoe! Very ugly shoe. But comfortable, light, fits a wider foot like many Altras. Best price I've seen

I've owned multiple pairs of Altra Paradigm 4.5s. I completely agree with one of the comments; they're an amazing comfort shoe for running and walking, but they're also quite ugly. One issue I had with my pair was that the heel counter was small. During slow-paced running or walking, it felt more like a flip-flop because the heel slightly slipped out, which was a bit annoying.

Thanks. I love my torins but want a slightly softer one for longer days.

If only the foam was as comfortable as it is thick on these types of shoes. They just have to make it thick because otherwise it would collapse and roll ankles.

In for a pair if they were AWD.

AWD is for off road running.
These FWD are for road running. Don't use them when it's snowing though.

I've had a few different running shoes, and recently got the Atlra Experience Flow 2. I love the toebox space. I doubt I'll go back to anything that isn't considered a wide toe box. Toes should not be smooshed.

Altra escalante's are the perfect running shoe, I don't know why anyone who's in the know about the benefits of wide toe boxes and and zero drop shoes (that's altra's primary audience) would waste time/money on higher stack height shoes with a drop to them. I guess at this price these are sort of just cheaper hoka/saucony/brooks with a wide toe box, but for anyone considering this shoe that's unaware of altra's whole schtick, maybe look into why low stack height, zero drop, wide toe box shoes have a following in the first place. And then buy escalante's.

Best Zero drop shoe brand on the market hands down.. Been using the Olympus and Lone Peak lines for years now. Get a custom orthopedic insole covered by insurance, and you're set-set👌

All I wear are Altras and love them but these are not traditional Altras. Personally I won't wear these.
They seem to be trying to compete with Hokas. These have a heel drop, toe curve/ spring rocker and super squishy foam. They do still have the natural toe box so if that's all you care about this is a good deal
