I've been looking for something better than my samsung watch for health readings, and was interested on this but have read really bad reviews. There's a scientist that posts reviews on youtube (The quantified Scientist) but he hasn't reviewed this watch so IDK. Does anyone have experience with the watch?

I had the OG ScanWatch and really enjoyed it, until the actual dial broke off inside the unit, lol. It lasted about 3 years and did everything I wanted it to do, without any hassle of a screen and a month long battery.

I have two of these, the large and the small. I love it. Charge it about once a month, maybe every 3 weeks, wear it all the time. There are some issues on iphone with mine getting notifications consistently, though I mostly blame Apple for this. You have to keep the app open for it to relay the notifications. But honestly I don't care that much, my primary use case is for the health and sleep tracking and it works great.

Wish there were more options like this with some other designs. I like some smart watch functions but don't need them all and certainly don't like the shitty battery life. This seems to strike the right balance.

I've owned multiple withings products. Currently own the scanwatch 2 nova. Aside from looking great, these are a collosal pile of crap. Step counting by itself is off by thousands, daily. Never close. The app looks nice but doesn't really provide anything other than the incorrect information. Oh and of course you can buy the premium ai based software. They look nice and are good for basic notifications. If you're looking for actual health guidance, look elsewhere.

Tempting! (Then again I just read the review above, lol).

I used to have a Garmin Vivomove. Similar styling, works with the Garmin app & ecosystem, no EKG, a bit crappy / unusable little screen, week-long battery life. It was also cheaper than this.

I've been using a Scanwatch for over 3 years. It's absolutely the ideal amount of smartwatch for me. I went through multiple Samsung and Fitbits before that. However, the app has gotten much worse over time. In the past few months the app has completely lost all my data, and I've had to factory reset the watch.
I've started eyeing Garmin crossover watches because is still prefer the aesthetics of real dials.

Had the first one and was very, very disappointed. I still was interested enough in the concept of a fitness hybrid watch, as I was looking for the aesthetic and didn't really care about smart watch features at the time. It would have to have undergone major changes in firmware to change my mind, and assuredly would still be worse that the Samsung watch.

Despite having a heart rate monitor, the watch doesn't really ever do anything with it. For calories burned estimate, it simply goes by steps taken, which it severly underestimated.. For a minute where more steps are taken, it assumes a higher burn rate (i.e, 300 steps taken in a minute burns more calories than 300 steps taken over 3 minutes). For activities that were higher intensity with lower step counts/ movement, like weight lifting, it simply uses a generic fixed estimate of the burn rate per minute based on the body weight...that's it. So where you were doing a crossfit session drenching yourself in sweat, or were doing the lighest say of a powerlifing program where you did 2 reps every 5 minutes, it estimated the same burn rate. And at the time, there was no way to have the heart rate m;m m

The software also was basically useless with tracking apps like myfitness pal. It could not separate active calories from its estimate of total calories burned, so it upended any adjustment. This may have been fixed, but was still an egregious error at the time.
Basically, if you want just some qustionaly accurate number about your heath to be able to look at them and say"OK-Neat". Bu

This looks like a perfect watch for me as my requirement is a watch that looks like a normal watch but has minimal smart functionality like step count and activity monitor. I do understand this may not be the perfect watch for everyone especially people who use it for training and also the smart features such as answering calls and texting from watch which I hardly do with my Garmin Venu 2. My Garmin stopped working and this looks like a perfect replacement based on my needs.
