I used to have a Garmin Vivomove. Similar styling, works with the Garmin app & ecosystem, no EKG, a bit crappy / unusable little screen, week-long battery life. It was also cheaper than this.
I've started eyeing Garmin crossover watches because is still prefer the aesthetics of real dials.
Despite having a heart rate monitor, the watch doesn't really ever do anything with it. For calories burned estimate, it simply goes by steps taken, which it severly underestimated.. For a minute where more steps are taken, it assumes a higher burn rate (i.e, 300 steps taken in a minute burns more calories than 300 steps taken over 3 minutes). For activities that were higher intensity with lower step counts/ movement, like weight lifting, it simply uses a generic fixed estimate of the burn rate per minute based on the body weight...that's it. So where you were doing a crossfit session drenching yourself in sweat, or were doing the lighest say of a powerlifing program where you did 2 reps every 5 minutes, it estimated the same burn rate. And at the time, there was no way to have the heart rate m;m m
The software also was basically useless with tracking apps like myfitness pal. It could not separate active calories from its estimate of total calories burned, so it upended any adjustment. This may have been fixed, but was still an egregious error at the time.
Basically, if you want just some qustionaly accurate number about your heath to be able to look at them and say"OK-Neat". Bu
