As someone who has found fresh / frozen / canned "sweet peas" disgusting since they were 5 and never grown out of it, are these dried peas as sweet as those, and is there a way of preparing them where the sweetness is not obnoxious? (I have the same thing about cooked carrots and parsnips - but not sweet potatoes.)
I can just barely tolerate the few bits of dried peas that come in pasta salad mixes. I can better tolerate some peas in pre-prepared Indian food, such as samosas. I really can't recall if we've eaten split-pea soup - I think not. I can eat wasabi peas with no problem.

These dried peas are very different from the types of peas you are mentioning. The dried ones won't be sweet.
