Then call it a 7-year warranty rather than advertising a lifetime warranty.

I am probably going to avoid TNF moving forward.

I recently tried to use their "lifetime warranty" and they denied the RMA because they now internally consider "lifetime" to be 7 years from the manufacture date of the product.
On top of that, their stores no longer allow RMA drop-offs so I'd have to pay for shipping out of pocket.
Not deal breakers, but compare that to other brands like Patagonia and you can drop in with a broken zipper and they will either swap it out on the spot or handle all of the mailing logistics on your behalf.

A very nice jacket. I got it for $72 at the North Face outlet during their president's day sale.

Does it fit TTS? How would you describe the fit?

It is TTS, has strings to tighten the bottom part. Not sure what they're called.

Over-generous warranty is just a way to pamper a few loud customers at the expense of the vast majority of shoppers. I think TNF made the correct decision. It is a piece of clothes, why isn't 7-years long enough?

I found the fit quite odd, if I remember correctly it was quite boxy and the torso seemed short (as someone with an already short torso)

That is all part of the cost.
