Honest opinion here. Bought this for my office because I love my ember at home but didn't want to pay for another. This is equivalent to the warming usb plates and an insulated mug. No where near the quality or consistency of ember. I would recommend just using an insulated mug and if needed a warmer. Just for those who were thinking like me for a cheaper version.

I don't understand the appeal of a 12oz coffee mug. Keurig pods are 12oz, which will fill to the brim of this. So no room for cream, etc. We need 14oz min, or 16oz to be really nice.

Meh. I brought 2 and have an ember. Ember way better. The handle broke off on one of these in 6 months and the battery pretty much is shot on the other one I bought after about 9 months. It kind of does what it's supposed to do. It just won't last

Thank you to the 2 people who shared their experiences. Repped both of you. This was to be a gift but I don't want to give an inferior gift so going to pass on this one and shop for the Ember.

Using an insulated steel cup is just as effective as this. These are not very good, I returned mine

All of these battery coffee warmers suck no matter how much you spend; at least this is only $25.
That said, I use them every day and twice on weekends. This $25 one will start flaking the inside paint no matter how gently you hand wash it, so only purchase if you're not concerned about ingesting paint flakes. I don't know why there are zero companies that simply have an unpainted stainless surface.
The Ember is worse in every way except mine hasn't flaked paint yet. It doesn't come with a lid, it costs a fortune, the app is terrible, bluetooth range is poor, it's heavy so you can't tell how much coffee is left, getting it to turn on or off is a constant struggle...
Having perfect temperature coffee all day and around the house is worth the many headaches of these sucky mugs.

Just a thought if you are looking for an ember alternative.. I have an ember, almost never use it as I bought some double walled glass mugs (bodum) and they keep my coffee warm so well, and they are nicer to hold than the ember (sharp edges on the handle and rim of the ember).

Thanks for the helpful comments on comparisons with Ember. I'll just save up for an Ember for my parents. I don't linger with my coffee so microwave is good enough but mom forgets getting busy with tasks, so might be a good gift
