TCL is one of the few companies that make the screens also. Many manufacturers outsource that task.

TV has been the only item that is lowered in price.

All tech stuffs like PC gadgets went up in price.

This is a good affordable TV for the garage

I've had nothing but good luck with TCL products that I buy. I might go for this one. Thanks!

I have the 65" version, works okay, software is a bit clunky and slow but works. You get what you pay for.

I have zero evidence to back this claim, but I think it's because most people keep their TV's for a long time. There are still a lot of people who upgrade their other gadgets annually or bi-annually, so the tech companies are going to milk it as long as they can.

Yeah.... that was the Good 'Ol Days!!
Nowadays TVs are rigged/designed to fail.
There were a few upper-models Sony TVs that if a single LED backlight failed the entire TV became inoperable. (Reminds me of the old school Xmas string lights.

True. However, my LG OLED from 2018 is still going strong. I think thats pretty decent in today's tech standards.
