Better to go with Costco gen2 AirTag deal which comes for $20 per tag against $16 per gen1 tag. For extra $4 you are getting a newer Ultra Wideband and Bluetooth chip that gives up to ~50% farther Precision Finding range and lets compatible Apple Watch models locate it too, while the original's range is shorter and limited to iPhone use. The Gen 2 model also has a speaker that's about 50 % louder with a distinct chime, making it easier to hear than the first-generation tag.

If you don't care these new features this is good deal which keeps coming every few weeks.

I checked Costco online and seeing 2nd gen AirTags 4 pack + additional 1 pack = 5 tags for 99.99. This would be $20/tag

I saw the same, thinking gen 2 tags are the way to go for just a few dollars more.

Target has them at $65 as well but they also have a $20 off $100 tech coupon available for some accounts. If you have the coupon you can get 8 for $110, and the 5% target card discount as well for $104.50 before taxes.
