One reviewer mentioned that the blade is on the right side of the saw body, which may make it hard to see the cutting line if you are used to that.

standard sidewinder saw, worm drive saw the blade is on the left side. Track saws also have the blade on the right.

I had one of these for a month before selling it. With a proper blade depth, it was struggling to cut through 2x4s and even stopped half way through cuts. Skil needs to come out with a max power battery for it. I found it to be dangerous.

Good deal for limited use. I owned the drill/driver and impact driver too and found everything to be very underpowered. Skil 20v eco system is limited, if you buy into it look at the tools they offer.

I was thinking the same thing. I need a bigger battery for my light but I just can't pull the trigger for some reason.

I think this is a rare 6-1/2 with the blade on the right side, as most are on the left. 7-1/4 standard blades are on the right mostly. It depends on your preference. I do feel left side is easier to see cuts. If you happen to DIY straight edge track out of plywood, then right side blade offers more surface area to glide and for stability, for right-handed peeps. Yeah, you don't want to be short power when cutting. Also, saw on few DIY vids, Dewalt seems to be preferred for cutting tools. I have Milwaukee M18 Fuel 6-1/2, its great, needed some fine adjusting, but no power issue.

I'm sure as you get deeper into woodworking, you will end up upgrading to Ryobi, Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt, or luxury brands if you can afford them.
