Is it me or doesn't it feel like a rotary hammer should be M18 to be beefy enough? At $165 with a battery return it's pretty tempting, even though I have a rarely used corded cheapy one already. Decisions decisions.
rotohammer power is really less about the voltage and more the hammer mechanism.

Still allowing me to set two different pickup stores. Make the change in cart.
I did.
It switches both items' pickup locations now when you click the location name to change pickup location.

Edit: I guess if you click the 'Check nearby stores' then select a store there it bypasses the new 'update all pickup locations' handling I described above lol

Depends on the use case. An electrician drilling for tapcons may benefit from having this smaller/lighter tool when the extra oomf isn't really needed for smaller holes.

Bigger holes for stuff like rebar, anchors? Sure, the M18 makes more sense.

As already said, it depends on use case.

This is only rated up to 5/8" bits, the M18 will be at least a 1" and have access to much larger batteries meaning more holes per charge on the same size hole.

If you already have a tool that you rarely use, why would you buy another to rarely use it?

Idc how good M12 is, no way I'll pay this much for M12. Task that need me to use this is always in open area with enough room. So I'll rather go big with power to spare.

and I see it weighs about 1/2 of my Dewalt DCH133B which would be a big deal if one was working overhead.

Exactly.. probably hard to beat this tool if you're setting tapcons for conduit & electrical boxes often. This is ~3 pounds lighter than the the M18 version.

High end M12 stuff is great, but it tends to be weirdly more expensive now than the comparable M18 stuff.

But M18 (or Dewalt 20v etc.) is a completely different category of tool. As long as the M12 will do the job, I'll always prefer it. The size and weight is just way better. When you're stuffed in a crawl space or under a sink holding a tool over your head for minutes at a time, every ounce matters. This has always been true, even since long before these handy battery tools came out. And if I really need more power etc., I'll just use a plug-in tool that costs 1/5 as much as these overpriced battery tools. For a hammer drill in particular, it's hard to beat a 15a version.

Why would I buy this? Because it's on sale of course! Added bonus: it's red.

What more is there really? Smilie

They can be pricy, sure... but more expensive? Nah. The M18 version of this is like $260-280 at best, for the bare tool. Currently $298...

You are right for heavy duty use cases, but for lighter to middle duty use this would work very well if you're already invested into the M12 landscape. I have a dewalt 5/8" 12v hammer that is excellent for its weight/size. Especially for people who only occasionally use a rotary hammer this might really fit the bill.
