FYI I tried to do this exact deal in December as an existing customer. I checked thoroughly for any sort of new customer requirements, but I found none. I couldn't activate the 1 year of service and customer service insisted it is only when bringing in an outside number. I had to switch to Tello for 2 days, then I could activate the mint year and port my number back in.

The carriers that overcharge you for service often give the best "deals" on new phones. You wouldn't believe how many people think they're saving money.

I just went through this with the last P10 deal back in Nov with 2 of them. You have to activate it on the Mint network to start the 60 day unlock countdown. Once its active you don't have to keep the phone active* on Mint (more to come on this). You can move the eSIM to another phone (We used iPhones) and toss the P10 in a drawer to check on it in 60 days. At the 60 day mark to get the unlock "code or signal" the P10 has to be active on the Mint network again. So you will have to move the eSIM back to the P10 and wait for the unlock code. You might have to chat or call the Mint CS for them to send the unlock code and it can take 12-24hrs to get. With mine it took 6 hours and I got the text on the P10 that it was unlocked. I then moved the eSIM back to the iPhone and activated the P10 on a different network.

One of the huge problems you may run into. Mint is real restrictive on how many eSIMs you request in a 30 day period. If you go over 5 you account will be locked and you cannot get another eSIM for 30 days. If you try to request another eSIM in that 30 days it starts the 30 day wait/ban over. One of the lines had this happen and we couldn't move the Mint line off the now unlocked P10 back to the iPhone for 30 days. Not a big deal unless its for a teen and you are ruining their life by making them use an andriod for 30+ days.

Not the same, that one was for the 10 Pro.
That was an awesome deal. They seem to offer the same phone deal every BF, and since the carrier number is irrelevant to me with Google Voice, I flip the phone once it's unlocked and get free phone service plus $100-200 every year.

Can someone please tell me if this would work for me:
My kid has an unlocked iPhone but will need a new plan in a few days.
I'm currently with Mint and my $15/mo contract is for another 8 months but I'm happy and want to stay.
Can I buy this and put my kid on this plan and keep the Pixel on my account? Or does it need to be activated with the new phone and used with this phone all year?
Can I activate the new plan on the new phone and then basically transfer that newly activated phone to my line?
Would that work?
From other posts it seems the answer is yes

I did the previous Pixel 10 Pro XL deal with 1 year service. I used the 1 year service on a different Pixel 10 Pro XL phone, no issues. New phone went to a family member and the family member's current Mint service was able to transferred to the new phone. Some say the Mint phones are locked initially to Mint Mobile, just FYI.
Did the phone unlock after 60 days like normal since it was used on a different Mint account?

I haven't been a Mint customer for 5 months. If I use the email address I used last time will they still accept me as a new customer?

Might get this deal. Mint doubles its plan price after a year when you renew.

For those that received their phones, are they still unlocked out of the box (before connected to the wifi and/or network and phoning home) like past deals, despite it states locked on the website?

Do they have a 90-day policy? If you switch to a different carrier and then switch back to Mint again after a few days, do you qualify as a new customer, or will you still be considered an existing customer?
I'm currently on Mint Mobile and need a phone. Has anyone done this?

Is there any way for current Mint customers to purchase a phone without a plan?

Don't bother with the A models until they spend the dollars to bring the ultrasonic finger print reader. You have a 7 and it uses the crap optical reader. 9 and above moved to the new reader.
