Wish I had one of these at home when I was in college.

If you do any kind of tinkering with electronics, be it motors, cameras, PCB's, lights, etc. Having one of these at your bench feels like a necessity after having one. No more scavenging for power supplies to find the right voltage, or adjusting buck converters.

I pity the more youthful electronic experiment for not having a cheap and plentiful supply of used HP power supplies. Clean clean clean. Did I say clean power?

https://www.amazon.com/30V-Variab...r=8-1&th=1 $46 on Amazon doesn't seem to be a sale price even so not so slick of a deal! Plenty others available at or close to this price as well so I mean get it if you really need it but ZERO reason to jump on this deal IMO!

There's been a bunch of mediocre Woot deals (as compared to Amazon's regular price) posted recently. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Also, how well are commodity rotary encoders (such as these) holding up nowadays?

I have this exact model, it's been great for me. Had it since 12/23.

These also work great for bringing back lithium ion batteries that have dropped their voltage too far to charge with the OEM charger. I don't use mine often, but waited too long to buy one. Definitely handy for when you do need it. I wish I bought one a long time ago.
FWIW, I paid $65 from Amazon, but it's no longer listed as available.

I've bought this model back in 2019 for infrequent use, no issues (it's currently NLA, but there is a newer model available).

I thought I'd be using its software with USB computer interface and memory buttons, but I was wrong - never used them. This is something that you or other folks may consider, when buying.

About half of what you could have gotten in 2000
