Still doesn't compare to the durability of the sapphire models.

Nope. This model is worth it for the SS case and sapphire screen if nothing else. The difference in durability compared to the aluminum models is night and day. I'd pick one up but I already got a Series 8 SS in that BF '24 $199 Walmart deal and there isn't enough difference between the 8 and the 9 to justify it.My next AW will be SS or Titanium though, never going back to the base aluminum model after seeing how much tougher these are.

AT&T Access More. No longer available. But there are a number of Citi cards that have this benefit.

Just received mine (an upgrade watch for my tween daughter).

It is NIB but arrived completely discharged, which suggests to me that it's been sitting around for a very very long time. I do have concerns about the battery longevity as such. But I purchased with a Citi card that adds 2 years to warranty, so if it gets really bad I will get a replacement under warranty.

(The bigger problem is if it degrades somewhat but not a lot. Then Apple will often refuse to service, even if I'm paying and getting reimbursed by my card.)
The plot thickens. After setting up the watch it reports warranty expired 2024. Which makes me think this is a refurb, not new as advertised.I contacted Woot but hard to imagine I won't demand a replacement at this point.

I received two sealed boxes, but they both indicated that the warranty expired November 2024. I tried to get Apple to update the purchase date, but they refused (they wanted proof of where Woot acquired their stock). I contacted Woot, and after explaining the situation and how I tried to update the warranty information with Apple, I was able to convince them to refund me $75/watch, based on the argument that the 1 year warranty would cover a battery replacement and that costs $99 for an out-of-warranty watch. This reduces the price to the equivalent of $180 pretax, which seems like a reasonable compromise to me even without the one year warranty. Woot did offer to send me a replacement or refund my purchase, but I figured that the replacement would likely have the same issue.

Oh, good to know. I will likely go that route. I'm otherwise very happy with it, don't want to port the cell service (again), and suspect my credit card would cover the warranty anyway after 1 year (since, from the card's perspective, the original 1-yr mfg warranty was in effect).

Yes, I have one year warranty coverage from my credit card as well. I ended up buying a third one, as the battery in the Series 7 which I handed down to my kid swelled and popped the crystal, and Apple wanted $100 to replace the battery. This time, I was able to get Woot to refund me $150, so I received $300 in total refunds from the three watches. Specifically, the third watch cost as much as what Apple wanted to replace the battery on my older Series 7. So, $150 per watch after everything was said and done, which is a pretty screaming deal.

Yeah they refunded me $100, so overall I'm happy with the purchase for $150 net.

Mine came in a sealed box. Everything looked new. The warranty, though, showed expired. I took a screenshot and sent it to Woot online customer service, requesting a partial refund for the value of the promised warranty. They declined the request and said to send the watch back for a full refund. They said they'd send a replacement, but they didn't have any more. All that would have done, anyway, is most likely result in the same problem. Any other ideas for taking a run at getting the partial refund? I really feel like this is false advertising.
