Wow this is a good deal, I signed up yesterday for an alert, lucky. Yes there are cheaper 5080 laptops out there but there is NOTHING, no other laptop in this form factor out there and for the price.

Thank you! I scored it for $1918 (good condition). I was waiting for the 5070 Ti to hit sub $1600 but this is great.

Wonder how this compares to the 5070ti version that everyone complains about (not having vapor phase cooling found on the 16" version).

Very nice, I already bought a Lenovo with a 5080 in it for about the same price. In hindsight this would have been a better form factor for me i would just worry about the cooling in a small package.

They're pretty close, pretty much indistinguishable but 16gb vram instead of 12gb. For a $300 diff in price tho, it wouldn't make sense to get the 5070ti. You also get a bigger ssd.

I love my Lenovo slimline 4060, I'd preferred to stay with their brand but the form factor is important for me.

The g14 will definitely run hot, but can make some tweaks to cool it a bit.

I actually have the (prev gen) ROG 16" with the 2070 (daughter using it) and 14" with the 5070ti, but still mainly use my Alienware 16" w/ 4090. I think I want to sell the 2 and move to a 16" (5070ti/5080) as it's still portable enough for me and quieter than the 14" would be.

I bought the 5070ti varient open box for 1425 otd. Not sure if this is worth the extra $700-800 given that the 5080 is limited due to wattage and thermals. The bigger ssd is nice though

Warning on these, I bought this exact one brand new and it had all kinds of intermittent issues that I had to exchange it. Just inexplicable hard crashing every couple days at most if not more than once within a few hours of minor use. New is one has been good but one of these open boxes is probably mine.

I got my Legion 7i non-Pro Gen 10 with 5070 running on less than 100 watts (30 watts GPU, 20 CPU, + screen /peripherals ~80-90 watts total) with some undervolting - solid 1600P at high settings 60 fps+ on Ghost of Tsushima currently.

It's amazing how much you can push the efficiency limits on modern hardware.

Oh man, I had a earlier version of a ROG Zephyrus G14 3 or 4 years ago and I loved it. I was pretty rough with it and used it all the time; bits of plastic are broken off the case but it still works great to this day. Still fast but I wanted a newer video card for games. If I hadn't upgraded to a new laptop a few months ago I would bite on this. Very positive experience with the older model.

I don't think I can give Asus this much money knowing well something will break on this thing and wont be covered under warranty.
