I love the remote start on my Tesla.
Serious question. Does it require a monthly subscription?

not if you just want to use the radio-frequency FOB. If you want to use an app to start from anywhere, you must get a "drone mobile" module (doesn't seem included with this kit) and that does require a monthly fee to work.

No, the app works great even if you don't have premium connectivity....

They had the Idatastart for cheaper than this . The Idatastart has Twice the range and comes with 2 two way remotes.

You might want to set a deal alert for it here.

i have this exact compustar system and have found the range to be far beyond what anyone would need. in fact, i have a cabin that has a mile long driveway. had to park at the bottom of the drive due to deep snow one trip and ride the machines in. when we were getting ready to leave at the end of the weekend, i pressed the button to start the truck from inside the cabin, just to see if it could. no line of site, lots of trees, etc. a second later it flashed the green light at me letting me know that it worked. i was kind of shocked as i had zero expectations for it to work.
this is rated for 3000', which is well over a half mile.. thats like 10 city blocks.. im honestly not able to think of a situation where you would need a longer range than that.

Inside buildings it makes a big difference in range

Why wouldn't you want more range for the same price? You also 2 two way remotes instead of 1 two way and 1 one way remote with the Compustar.

I have both compustar and Idatastart and the Idatastart wins hands down. Not even close.

BTW. Both companies are owed by the same company

What issues are you seeing with being inside buildings? I work in a giant factory and I can start mine through 2 different sections of 12" thick concrete walls.

They're going to discontinue the Tesla vehicles and just produce Optimus. Optimus was created by using the audio, video and sensors inside the vehicle to take info from the users of the vehicles and train their robots. You are "borrowing" the vehicle from Tesla and you signed away your rights to anything that is captured from their vehicle. This is also why users of Tesla vehicles are not supposed to modify them and when you sell the vehicle, you cannot sell it with any software packages that you subscribed to

Look I'm telling you it works better from personal experience. If you don't believe me then that's fine. Buy whatever you want.
