Good deal OP!
Just as a heads up, you might be able to combine this deal with a 10 off 50 coupon. I think it might be store by store, but the people at my local store were nice enough to let me do BOGO and the 10 off 50.
https://www.sherwin-williams.com/...ial-offers
Looks like this 10 off 50 only last to 2/28/2026 so not a ton of overlap

Just bought 2 gallons this past Sunday, 2/22. Will they price adjust for an in-store credit?

From my experience, the $10 of $50 coupon has always been stackable with whatever other deal they're doing. Sometimes that coupon is only good in-store. Other times you can enter the coupon code / barcode online as a promo code and it works in addition to the regular sale as well.
Also, do not EVER buy that Emerald paint. It's awful and so overpriced. Doesn't cover well, lumpy, even lumpier after you try to reuse it.. I love their Cashmere line. They've now expanded their Cashmere line to also include a satin sheen (used to have to go with Duration or Super Paint for that), and they also sell many of their Designer colors in Cashmere as well
I have painted the interior of two houses and the Emerald is my favorite. It's not pro experience but compared the paints home depot and lowes sells I like it much better for coverage and how it's thick so I thin it maybe 10% and it doesn't splatter off the rollers like the thinned down other brands I used to get. I agree it's overpriced until you get a good deal on it for sure.

If you need paint in multiple gallon quantity this is the way to go. Sherwin covers sooo much better than big box store brands, but the every day price is ridiculous.
So I was short a quart of two colors to finish the 15gal I bought. I got their quart cans and it was like $30 wtf. They sell many tiers in a "sample" quart they mix for you in any color for $12. One in a metal can one in a easy to open plastic jug for 1/3 the price. If you have a smaller job Emerald tier in the sample jug is the way to go in my opinion.

Is it, though? I am by no means an expert - or a paint connoisseur - but we recently had our whole house (inside and out) done with SW Duration as part of a reno and they used about as much as I would have used of a mid-grade (maybe mid-high, I never buy the "best" stuff) big box store brand (I think my current pick is Behr because I like their lids, though I have always been happy with quality and coverage of Valspar).

I know they used about the same amount because we have painted the entirety of our interior several times over the past 15 years and always keep track of brand/tier, color, sheen, and amount used. Our contractor set up a bill order with our contact info under his account and we just went to SW to pick out colors. I got an email confirmation with each order. They might have used a couple of gallons less over the entire house - and we definitely had 1/4 gallon or more of each color leftover - but on a project this big, it's not a big of a difference.

Additionally, we have always been happy with the color, coverage, and durability of whatever big box stuff we chose at the time. Contrast that with our latest SW paint, which we have hated...though that's probably because we let the contractor talk us into flat (or matte). It looks amazing when first applied but quickly looks like complete crap. You can't look at it without making a mark on the wall, and there are a lot of random marks on the wall when you have kids and dogs. And sure, it's "easy" to cover, but heaven help you if that paint wasn't shaken by the fist of an angry god because those flatteners are a PITA to fully mix on your own. I would rather spend a fraction of the time wiping up the marks than going through the whole touch-up production with multiple colors. Again, I'm chalking up my dissatisfaction with SW because flat over eggshell, but it's hard to justify SW prices when we've had such good luck with the "cheap" stuff.

So that's my $0.02 that no one asked for. I get that SW is a favorite of both homeowners and pros and if I'm being completely honest, we did SW Emerald Rain Refresh in satin on the outside and it still looks absolutely fantastic. If the price is equivalent - which it may be with this deal, assuming you need an even number of gallons - sure, go with SW. I know it's not bad, not at all. I just don't think it's special in most cases.

Random, but related: I made a big ol' mark on the wall while installing a fireplace mantel. It was after SW store hours and I didn't have any extra of the SW paint for that wall. We were having family and friends over the next morning, so I ran out to Home Depot and picked up the cheapest flat Glidden they had. They matched the color perfectly and damn if that paint wasn't a near-perfect match. I don't think I could find that dinner-plate sized cover-up if I had to.

Haha at the downvotes. My apologies that my experience based on facts isn't as valuable as the Sherwin Williams circle jerk.

Love Emerald, it's the only paint I use. Obviously only purchase it on sale because the normal price is bonkers. (Not a) Pro tip: buy untinted now if you know you have an upcoming project but aren't sure what color you want yet, then just take it in to be tinted later.

Painted the entire exterior of my house with Emerald and it looks beautiful. Great paint. Did not have the option to wait a sale back then when I need it. Love this paint though. Looks great.

TBH it may be more labor than actual amount of paint used, I just know with the big box stuff we end up putting 4 coats on and Sherwin is max 2, I'm not sure that we actually use that much less paint, but my time is worth a lot more than the paint costs either way.

I have used Emerald since it came out 13 years ago, and it is of excellent quality. My one main complaint has been the metal cans they come in - they rust if you store the can for any extended period. I asked at my local SW store why not use plastic cans, which would be better for rust control, and I was told it was a cost-saving measure to use the metal over plastic, since the metal is much less $$ than the plastic. At $120-140/gal, a few pennies more for a plastic container versus a metal one cannot be factored in?

Nobody really pays retail for this, but Sherwin Williams is more for professionals and people who want a professional look.

You would probably be better off at Home Depot. They have cheap paint.

Emerald is the best paint SW has hands down. It is not "lumpy" and covers up to 400 sq. ft. per gallon. same as cashmere

Cashmere is OK in low traffic areas, maybe adult bedroom, but Emerald is much more durable and has mildew resistance built in.

Duration is almost the same price as Emerald, but has less coverage per gallon, so price is almost the same for the job. Duration is said to have better moisture/humidity resistance early so better for a bathroom you cannot wait a week to cure before a shower.

Superpaint? That is for a rental or a flip. You will repaint in 5 years or less with superpaint.

I've only ever had extremely poor results using SW paint. Behr marquee with primer is the only thing that truly COVERS walls on a flipper special that are the grayest of grays. Can't beat BOGO though!
