Who makes shelves that are under 16 inches when studs are 16 inches on Center you're only going to be able to hit one stud.

Our house is 12" studs on center. Wouldnt own a house with 16" studs……but they are definitely out there. Best to confirm with a stud finder prior to buying. I've bought and returned a few of these. For me, having the shelve also screw into the mounting rod is a must. But for $10, and if it's only for decoration and not holding more than 5 pounds - I say give it a try.

12 on center is virtually unheard of where I live, must be nice. That being said, I have these shelves, they are pretty ugly in person, there are 2 set screws underneath to secure the shelf to the rods. Fairly sturdy on a single stud, but definitely not putting anything heavy on it or anything I wouldn't want to break

NOPE! These are awful. I bought 2 packs (6 shelves total) and most are OK but one of the smaller one only has a single wick candles and a few small books and it is bending downward. I have a 3 wick candle and other books on same models and they're not bending... QA is definitely hit or miss.

*Keep in mind, amazon BLOCKS some people from leaving reviews or rating products... so you can only imagine how many people, like myself, are unable to leave their honest review which, in this case, would be unfavorable

These are garbage.
The Concealed bracket is crappy with minimal holes.

Compare with a quality wood product with a great bracket

you do NOT want MDF or any other fiberboard material anywhere near moisture. It will absorb it and swell.

Yes I own both.
I own both too... and just installed both the other day actually!!! Yes, the Costco ones are much better quality for sure.... but these cheapie ones are OK for the money if you want something cheap and don't need them to hold a lot of weight... but don't expect quality unless you get the Costco ones.
If you get the Costco ones, then be sure to install on two studs. They are heavy.
