Ugh, Google Fi is charging sales tax on the full purchase price, not the after discount price.

Comes to like 17.5% in taxes when it should be 1/2 that.

The 512gb price is $1499... Therefore $850 is correct! I'm not sure if the 256gb is eligible

New FI customers can have 512gb for $999

Samsung pricing is insane. Apple is final cheaper by a mile. Samung sales are nonstarters

I reactivated my 180+ day old account and it still gave me $650 off.
You activated eSIM on an existing phone first, then the deal showed up?

I activated an esim a year ago, canceled after 120 days, waited until now, clicked through the $20 flex plan agreement, now it asking me to activate my bring your own phone, and I ordered the S26 Ultra.

pretty meh deal considering trade in values are in the toilet and there aren't any good extra freebies. A few years ago you could reliably count on upgrading from current samsung model to next model for $200-400 (or even less) and get thrown in $100 of accessories, free buds, maybe even a big discount on a tablet.

Now you pay $600+ for a phone that is a marginal upgrade, what a bummer. Not surprisingly sales have slowed down massively.

The S25 Ultra was $850 straight up last black friday, no promos/tradeins/lockins, this deal is still better of course and with everything going up in price its not too bad. Especially if you are a satisfied google fi customer.

On the plus side the S2x line of samsung phones is pretty reliable if plain and kinda boring. Battery life is good, phones work great, cameras are good. I currently use a flip 5 and its my second one after first one's screen died after 2 years, replaced with fi warranty (no issues). I don't think the S26 line would need a warranty though, phone should last years for any normal person.

It is pretty telling there isn't a mega samsung trade in thread on SD on launch day for S26, usually every year that thread would be dozens of pages long by the end of the day.

For anyone wondering about release date it looks like the phone ships out on March 11th, and you can choose signature delivery or not on release (i would heavily recommend signature delivery). Sometimes Samsung does ship phones out early too.

How are people's experiences with Fi's Flexible plan? Do they get charged for at least $10 for data even if the phone is on WiFi all the time?

It is a deal if you have been rolling over the ultra each year... you get this deal for $650 then sell the S25 ultra for $550 on FB market, and you have a new phone for $100ish /yr

Can I use the phone with a different carrier after 2-3 months of activation, or does it have to be with Google Fi for 24 months?

You can use it on any carrier from Day 1 but DO NOT put the Fi sim or activate esim with ANY other device during that 120 days or you will be charged the FULL price.
