Google Fi is offering a strong S26 Ultra preorder discount, especially for existing Fi customers on Unlimited Premium or Flexible, with the 512GB model showing $650 off and free storage during preorder. The phone is factory unlocked, and the deal can be especially compelling if you sell or trade in a prior Ultra, since resale values often beat Fi trade in quotes. The main catches are the 120 day active service requirement, possible 21 day or first bill timing issues for new accounts, and taxes that may be charged on the full price in some states. A good fit if you can manage Fi timing and keep the line active.

smooth process. New GFi account on the S24, was able to pull the trigger on the S26 right afterwards.
You are supposed the wait 21 days to consider existing user or at least first bill. They can clawback the promo and charge your full price later. Good luck.

I'm thinking about canceling my order, switching price plans and then ordering 2 phones. Can I get 1 phone per line and also get the promo deal?

No, flexible plant that you are on is a full service plan
So if I activate this phone on my flexible plan, what happens to the old phone that I'm using on the flexible plan? Does FI service get deactivated on the old one?
Basically if someone calls me, which phone does the call go to?

Once you get your new phone and activate it all service on the old phone is canceled. Nothing happens until then

Fi gets deactivated on the old one, your service is moved to new phone. The old phone will keep nagging you FI is not activated. DO NOT tap on it and move the service back to the old phone before 120 days that will void the promo.

For Premium - New customer i am seeing - $999.99
1. Open an account with flexible plan. Use unmentionable code from existing user for $60 credit.

2. Just to be safe, wait for the first bill to be generated before ordering the phone. This will take couple of days. At the very least wait for a day but I suggest waiting for the first bill generation.

3. Once the phone is shipped you need to activate the phone within 30 days. At this point another counter for new user r**f credit is also running down from 30 days. I strongly suggest you wait for that counter to hit zero before you activate the phone. All the counters will be shown on FI app-billing-Track FI saving and instant rebate.

4. Once the phone is activated on FI by downloading the FI app, you should wait for a day for the counter to go down by 1. At this point you can disable/remove the eSIM and use your current provider.

5. At no point during 120 days move the FI SIM to another phone (i.e. do not install FI app on any other phone and log into this FI account). Once the counter reaches 0 you can cancel the line or pause it for next deal.

Ugh Fi plans are crazy expensive if you don't add 5 lines, not to mention poor cell reception

It will be factory unlocked once you receive it, but you need to stay 120 days on that device with the same email you used to order.

You don't move to FI for this, you open a line and do the deal to get the phone only.

1. Open an account with flexible plan. Use unmentionable code from existing user for $60 credit.

Hmmm, so this phone apparently is supported for the next 7 years. That is a big plus for me. I don't need the hardware, but I like the support life.

If you cancel the order, the promo under which you ordered takes time to "come back". You might need to talk to FI support which also might prove useless at the end.
