Ugh, Google Fi is charging sales tax on the full purchase price, not the after discount price.

Comes to like 17.5% in taxes when it should be 1/2 that.

The 512gb price is $1499... Therefore $850 is correct! I'm not sure if the 256gb is eligible

New FI customers can have 512gb for $999

Samsung pricing is insane. Apple is final cheaper by a mile. Samung sales are nonstarters

It boots into download mode only, no access to recovery whatsoever.
It seems to be a defect that Samsung is aware of, as Reddit and Samsung forums are filled with complaints. All my Samsung phones usually go bad around the 3 year mark. Everyone with the same bootloop issue, says the motherboard on the S23 ultra heats up and causes chip separation, that doesn't exactly make sense cause in download mode the phone doesn't automatically bootloop

I used nothing but Samsung phones since the fascinate from 2010. It's always been that way for me, 3 years then the phone magically breaks.

I really should move away from Samsung.
So in download mode odin does not recognize the phone when you plug it in the PC or if it did what firmware did you flash? I suppose you have already done many things

In download mode Odin detects the phone. I can flash the firmware with Odin, using home csc as to not wipe my data.

I tried the first firmware the phone shipped with then tried the last two updates.

I didn't backup my data as often as I should have. Eventually I may have to pay to have my data recovered.

For now my S23 ultra sets in a drawer with a dead battery. The bootloop goes until the battery eventually dies.

You had Fi before or are a current customer, right?

With a patched Odin you can flash a different firmware than what the phone shipped with (you can grab that patched Odin from xda forum) so you can try that but apart from that I don't have any other suggestion.

I used the patched D version of Odin from xda. But I will just let S23 ultra sit in a drawer since I have the S26 ultra. The data trapped on the S23 device is more important to me than getting it working for now. I have to make a better habit of backing up more frequently.

Did you buy as a new customer with referral credit promo also? I think that's what most of us want to know if the two will actually stack and count down together.

You sign up as new customer and you can use referral credit with byod . Then a few days later you buy the phone as existing customer. They are mutually exclusive

I think the referral promo is special and it might count down together together with the device promo. However, I always advise people to activate after it as it makes you go over 21 days which is what traditionally FI would take to consider you as an exsisting user so it is safe on both sides. What you don't want is to see that error in your promo "A new user has activated the device". I think some who are genuinely new to FI have already activated their phones so we should know more soon. Fi support is useless so it's better to save than sorry

I just got an email today (ordered 02/25) saying that I activated on a new FI member and that I have to activate it under current FI member to qualify. I don't get it, sounds like a scam now, last time they scammed me with the half off deal saying 1 (me) of the 4 members was a current member ( I left over a year ago) and that discount didn't qualify, I got a similiar email about it before the bill came out and reached out to Google Fi and they told me not to worry about it and that I will get it, ended up paying for a year without discount.
I contacted them tonight about it and they said the same thing, sound like I'm going to get played again, so I'm thinking about just cancelling or returning it. not worth the risk because the will charge you back $650 if you don' t qualify according to them.
Just my experience as well as couple other friends I reffered and we all got screwed. Wish you all the best of luck and not get into this drama.

Did you get the device already and activated it? If not you can ask them why it says activated. I have seen some reports of system glitches today and although FI support is useless they are known to fix this particular issue in their system. At any rate, I think if you can activate it within 15 day return window from delivery date but still more than 21 days from account opening date you can give it a try.

Got the exact same email hours after the phone was picked up by UPS. The package is still on its way though. Let's see how it goes.
Edit: Fi support mentioned someone has activated the device. Shall wait for the package to arrive in next two days.

I show the "A new Fi member activated the device" message in the Fi app under the Fi Savings section (no email though). Phone won't be delivered until tomorrow though. Under my devices section in the app, I show the S23U I activated the new Fi plan on as well as the S26U. The S26U shows "On the Way".

I was planning on waiting until the 30 day mark for the ref to activate the S26U, but wondering if I should do it after the 21 day mark before the 15 day return window closes.
