Ugh, Google Fi is charging sales tax on the full purchase price, not the after discount price.

Comes to like 17.5% in taxes when it should be 1/2 that.

The 512gb price is $1499... Therefore $850 is correct! I'm not sure if the 256gb is eligible

New FI customers can have 512gb for $999

Samsung pricing is insane. Apple is final cheaper by a mile. Samung sales are nonstarters

Updated the post to mention this is for unlimited premium and flexible plans. If you are on a different plan, you can switch to one of those plans , do the deal for 120 days and switch back

There is a slider under vivid mode, did you crank that all the way up. There has been a uproar about the display change from S23U to S24U, Samsung added those settings in response to that but yeah the earlier Samsung oleds used to be more saturated

Thanks. Without accessories, it would have been 850, which is still very good.

I will try to follow your method. Sell 26U before 27U comes and then buy 27U with GFi with similar promotion. That way, I always have latest model and have warranty as well. Thx.

For referral credit, I will have to wait for another 14 days which is 30 days from the day when I activated the service.

Account 2:
- Activated as a new user with referral code.
- Bought phone after 2-3 days of service activation.
Result:
- s26u $650 credit showed up fine in the account as soon as phone activated.
- Referral credit is in progress.
Chatted customer service. They confirmed, credit of s26u looks good. Countdown will start within 24 hrs. For referral credit, I will have to wait for another 17 days which is 30 days from the day when I activated the service.

Conclusion: Based on above scenario and information, people who ordered the phone on the same day of new activation of the service, are seeing "New fi Member ...." error msg. And that can be resolved by promotion team if it doesn't go automatically.

People who ordered the phone after a day or two of the activation of the service, (as suggested by @gadgetNerd in several post) will NOT see that error but still have to wait for 30 days for referral credit.

And yes, in both activations, I used method:
1) Delete Google Fi eSIM on old phone.
2) Turned on S26U. Connect to wifi. Skipped SmartSwitch.
3) Login to Google using same account used for the service.
4) installed google fi app and activated S26U.
Sharing my experience that supports your conclusion. Highly suggest people wait for the first bill to be generated before ordering.
My experience:
  • Created new Google Fi account using new email and a referral code
  • Signed up for Flex plan on Feb 27. Activated plan on my old phone and did not wait for first bill to be generated before ordering new phone since the existing user promo showed up.
  • New phone shipped on Mar 9 and I received an email/warning that I was at risk of losing the promo since a new Fi user activated the phone.
  • New phone arrived on Mar 10. Activated new phone on the plan but same warning remained after 24 hours.
  • Contacted Fi support over chat and asked to be redirected to promo team. Promo team called / emailed a day later to say I did in fact qualify and they've manually fixed my account. Tracker warning is gone now and counting down.
