The $899 retail price is for the 256GB model. It's $1099 retail for the 512GB model. Amazon is giving you a free upgrade on the storage capacity, plus a $100 Amazon gift card, all without any trade-in overhead. It's not a bad deal for a launch price.

That's a better deal than Samsung's preorder deal or EP discount on their website, at least for people without a trade in.

You only get taxed on the $1099 phone price and the gift card is $200 untaxed. This is a good deal if you want to just sell your phone privately. I will probably go with this and bring my price down to $861 plus a $200 gift card. Just have to deal with people to sell it off on FB marketplace.
