Samsung is often laughable. My OnePlus 9 (a 5 year old phone!!!) has 60w charging, while my current Ultra 25 has 45w. And now U26 finally has 60w and Samsung proudly calls it "Super Fast Charging" wootwootwoot
Open your eyes, Samsung. 240w and 210w charging are standard now in China. 0-100% (not 80%) in less than 10 min... We will see if Samsung can reach 240w by tricentennial!

Unfortunately, the same thing can be said with my Tesla compared with Chinese EV's.

Don't the fast charging Chinese phones use a different battery chemistry?

I don't feel like 240W is safe over a long period of usage. Thats the same amount of power a gaming laptop or 70-class desktop GPU uses under full load. That is a lot of power to put through a phone, and I imagine Samsung is wary because of their history with batteries...

Though yes they are very stagnant, battery charging speed isn't my first priority on the list of needed improvements when it does 0-80 in 30 minutes already.

I'll hang on to my S24 1TB until they have better incentives. The Samsung store and Amazon ones are pretty much a joke. Are they taking this from the Google Pixel playbook...

The newer ones for past 1-2 years are Si/c. Samsung using old battery from S22 Ultra 😂

You shouldn't value the gift card at 1:1 cash though.

Why? As a regular Amazon buyer (thousands of $$ per year), if I buy something with the GC instead of a CC, I'm saving money from my pocket.

Yes, Silicon Carbon. More mAH in the same space. Not confident if Silicon Carbon is the reason behind Chinese super fast charging. They had it on Lithium Ion batteries too. It's a specialty of Oppo (and its brands like OnePlus and so on)

A Samsung rep has communicated Silicon Carbon will come to the S27 series.

I think Samsung, Apple, Google and Motorola all missed the boat here. The Chinese market is fiercely competitive and they are launching phones all the time.
