i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
a couple differences between last year, seems the trade in values for the phones are nerfed around $100 (at least for newer phones) in addition to the s26 line being $100 more. I've done this deal since s24 with 2 lines, started with an iphone 6s>s24>s24+ & s20 fe>s24+, then the next year from s24+>S25 (ran out of time to further upgrade, would've also traded this for an additional s25+) & s24+>s25+, each of those times outside of the iphone 6s i was able to do an even swap for the new phone and net some acc credit, the year old galaxys i was trading in were worth around 330-350ish trade in for the new one, this year my s25+ is only worth 258 trade in.
So if the trend continues this is likely the last year where you can outright trade in last years phone for the new one (yes i know "YoU cOuLd JuSt BuY a MoTo G tO tRaDe In AnD sElL yOuR oLd PhOnE", some people value the simplicity of just doing one or two transactions at a store and washing your hands of the situation, not having to haggle with FB marketplace/ebay buyers to squeeze an extra 250-300 out of the transaction).
I'll proably just trade the s25 on one line for a s26, then trade that same s26 on the other line to get the s26+ and end up with a 25+ and 26+ and just call it a day after that. I was hoping this was the year i could eventually trade up to an Ultra phone but it seems like that not gonna be an option. I've been tracking the spectrum deals for a while and it seems like the only way i'd have been able to end up getting an evenish swap every time and end up with the s26U would've been to go from s25>Flip 7>Pixel 10 Pro XL>s26+> then do an additional trade in on the same line for a s26U and thats IF the S26s are eligible to be traded in before the 700 off trade in ends. even with hindsight that would've only been possible if i would've did every trade in during the pre order period because by the time the new trade in promotion came in (for example by the flip7 came out) the previous phone (s25+ in this case) was already barely enough to get an even swap for it during the pre order period. By the time the promotion was over you would've had to come out of pocket a bit (no more than 50 pre tax) to upgrade.
Moral of the story, All good things come to an end, seems like this is no different. (don't get me wrong this is still a great deal for those interested, just no longer a deal than can really be gamed)
I m not a internet subscriber yet. I m torm between should I pre-order two news phones with two phones to take an advantage of extra $200 on S26 or wait till in store deal is available. If I choose in store trad in, I ll get instant credit without facing hassle of Assurant but I ll lose $200 discount.

I didn't get to finish reading your wall of text. I would probably do burner phone for S26, then your S25 for S26+ on new line. Thanks me later.
This promo's online only, and it ends March 10th. The phone comes out in stores on March 11th. It's a gamble to do it online, I've seen trade-ins get rejected, and then you're stuck paying full price.

I've done a dozen online with no issues whatsoever. The only aspect that "expires" is the double memory on the 26+ and ultra. Might as well do the regular S26 in store because it's going to cost the same price as online pre order.

Is the extra 700 guaranteed past March 10? Is there any proof? I definitely prefer in store but don't want to miss out.

In the past, they carried over the $700 promo. Who knows what's going to happen this year. I too am waiting to do it in store as I had a really experience with Assurant with multiple trade ins last year.
